TitleWhat Do We Really Know about Effective leadership in Change Management
ShortDescriptionThis brief report examines key leadership requirements needed to successfully execute organizational change.
LongDescriptionNoting that the extensive literature on leadership has not provided satisfactory answers to the question of what leadership characteristics are necessary to successfully carry out organizational change, the author, building on current and past research, provides leadership characteristics using a capability-building framework that reveals five common patterns of behavior or skills. The research suggests that framing the change and enabling individual and organization capacity are the two most important criteria for effective leadership during change.
